Our History

In the beginning...

Communiverse was started in 1989 by our founding Director, Leon Erlank, to import and distribute data communication hardware.

Technology drives the vision...

In 2004 the company responded to market needs and adjusted its strategic direction by supplying High Speed Internet Access (HSIA) solutions to the hospitality market.

Communiverse immediately signed their first client, supplying a specialized Internet over VDSL solution to the Table Bay Hotel, a 335-room, 5-star hotel in the V&A Waterfront.

This was a breakthrough in Wi-Fi technology, using existing hotel telephony infrastructure to install a high technology solution, and it was believed to be the first of its kind in Africa.

This was soon followed by similar installations at The Mount Nelson, Westcliff and Cape Grace Hotels, all of them rated as some of the best hotels in the world and obviously very prestigious clients to Communiverse.

The company also installed some of the first Internet solutions to gated communities,as well as wireless internet over satellite at the 5-star Orient Express Safari camps in Botswana, Khwai River Lodge, Savute Elephant Lodge, and Eagle Island.

Becoming a major role player...

In 2011 Communiverse became the exclusive Partner to Swisscom in Sub-Saharan Africa and signed up many high-profile clients, mostly 5-star hotels, throughout the continent.

Communiverse currently represents some of the leading brands in the world in supplying leading-edge technology, such as HSIA (High Speed Internet Access), IPTV (Digital TV), Access Control Management Gateways, and other solutions and products to most of the corporate hospitality market throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.
